God’s Amazing Love

Matthew 1:21

And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.

Christianity stands uniquely above all other belief systems because it reveals a loving Creator who goes to extraordinary lengths to redeem His creation from their lost and eternal condition. At the center of this redemptive story are two monumental events: the birth of Christ and His resurrection.

The virgin birth is especially significant when we consider humanity’s fallen condition. Ever since Adam’s fall in the garden, human nature has been corrupted. This inherited sin nature keeps us separated from our Creator. We could do nothing to redeem ourselves, for everything about us has been touched and tainted by sin. Thus, the virgin birth becomes essential—Christ enters the world unstained by the fall, fully God yet fully man, the only One capable of saving us.

Oh, the lovingkindness of our Creator! Imagine the depth of love that moved God to become one of us so that we might dwell with Him eternally. That baby lying in the manger on Christmas morning was God in the flesh. The Word willingly left the glory of heaven because His love for us is overwhelming and immeasurable.

To the world, this season often centers on love, kindness, and generosity. Yet many never stop to consider the source of these virtues—the love of God and His kindness toward us. Christmas is more than a season of goodwill; it is the celebration of divine love stepping into human history for our salvation.

With Gratitude, Pastor Jesse
