Freedom from Fear
We are commanded 365 times in Scripture to not fear. The reason is simple: humanity struggles with fear. We fear dying, being in want, not being enough, and a thousand other uncertainties. The list goes on.
I once heard someone say that fear is faith in the wrong thing. Fear believes things will not work out. Fear believes you can’t accomplish the task. Fear believes that no matter what you do, everything will collapse into a giant ball of fiery failure.
Courage, on the other hand, is doing what is right in the presence of fear. Courage acts rightly regardless of how the circumstances look. To overcome fear, we must place our faith in God. We find courage by placing our trust in the Lord.
Courage is not the absence of fear—it is faith in God, knowing He can make up the difference. Daniel faced the lions, and the Hebrew children faced the fiery furnace, because they placed God above their circumstances.
What are you facing today? What giant stands before you? Whatever your obstacle, remember this: God is both willing and able to help you overcome. Walk the right path. Do the right thing in spite of fear. Allow faith in God to guide your way, and you will discover the beauty of your God walking with you, your God directing you, and your God never leaving you.
