Living Your Attained
Philippians 3:16 — “Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”
Teachers and coaches have a special gift. They see potential in others—potential the person themselves might not yet see. They know the ability is there, hidden and waiting to be drawn out. Through encouragement, challenge, and patient guidance, they help others rise to their full potential.
That’s what the Apostle Paul wanted for the believers in Philippi. He longed to see them reach their highest potential in Christ—to understand and live out all that God had already given them through Jesus. Paul’s message is clear: you already have everything you need in Christ—now live in it.
Like a good coach, Paul reminds us that the Holy Spirit within us is our strength and our guide. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. Our role is to cooperate with that power—to live up to what we’ve already received.
As we grow in knowing Christ, we come to experience the power of His resurrection, the fellowship of His sufferings, and the joy of dying to self so that others might live. In that place of surrender, we discover our greatest potential—not in striving for more, but in fully living out what we’ve already attained through Him.
